Common Mistakes in New Lawn Care
A new lawn does not need complicated care, but it does need consistency. One of the biggest mistakes is trying to force growth by overwatering or mowing too short.
Many people also plant without checking how much sunlight the lawn receives. This can lead to uneven growth and patchy coverage, especially when a full-sun grass variety is placed in a partly shaded area.
Another common problem is skipping the initial root-settling phase. The first few weeks are crucial, because the roots need time to hold and spread well. If the grass is repeatedly stressed early on, it may never establish as strongly as it should.
A thoughtful routine is better than a heavy one. Steady watering, moderate cutting, and good soil preparation usually produce the strongest results in the first season.
